The team building AI that actually ships
We help businesses turn technology ambition into working software — AI transformation, legacy modernization, and everything in between. We build what we promise, and stick around long enough to make sure it holds.
The way software gets built changed. So did the work it gets built for.
Two things are changing at the same time, and they pull in the same direction.
The first is how software gets built. Work that used to justify a large team and a long timeline no longer does, because the tooling now drafts, tests and reviews alongside the people doing it. Smaller and more senior beats bigger and cheaper, and it has for a while now.
The second is the work itself. The reading, sorting, chasing and re-typing that fills most of a company’s week is exactly the kind of work software can now do — not all of it, and not perfectly, but enough of it to show up in the margin.
Mid-market companies get offered two answers to that, and both of them fail quietly. One is a pitch built on the word AI, with a demo that works because someone picked the inputs. The other is a room of hourly people in another time zone who build what the ticket said and nothing it needed.
Growth Nerve exists for the third answer. Find the two or three places AI actually pays off, build them into the systems your people already use, run them against the messy cases nobody demos — then hand over the code, the accounts and the documentation and step back. And when AI is not the answer to the problem in front of us, we say so, because that is much cheaper to hear early.
The short version
A few senior people with AI tooling, instead of a large team and a long timeline.
Software that reads, decides and acts, instead of people re-typing between systems.
Hype on one side, hourly bodies on the other. Neither one ends up in production.
To close the gap between business ambition and technology execution — with empathy, expertise, and the right use of AI.
A world where every company can move as fast as its best idea, because the software and AI around it never gets in the way.
Software, modernization, and AI for organizations that can't afford to get it wrong twice
We build AI agents, automate intelligent processes, and modernize systems with AI — so your business runs smarter, not just faster.
Where this livesCustom software, cloud infrastructure, and application modernization, built to scale from day one and engineered to last.
Where this livesFrom data engineering to purpose-built platforms, we turn raw data into decisions your people can act on.
Where this livesQA testing, technical audits, and application support — delivered by engineers who use AI to move faster and catch more.

What we stand for
The first four are how we behave when nobody is holding us to it. The three after them are how the work is set up on day one — who does it, what it costs, and whose accounts it runs in. None of the seven is a result we are promising you.
How we behave
Raise the bar, every day
Good enough isn't — we push for the version of the work we'd be proud to put our name on.
Keep it real, always
Honest timelines, honest tradeoffs, honest answers — even when they're inconvenient.
Speak up, even when it's hard
The best outcome usually needs someone to say the uncomfortable thing early.
Good vibes are not optional
Great work and a team you actually want to work with aren't a tradeoff.
True on day one, in writing
The people who scope it build it
No handover from the people who sold the work to the people who do it. The senior engineers on your first call are the ones writing the code, and they stay on it until it runs.
Fixed price — outcomes, not hours
We price the outcome and we quote it before we start. If it takes us longer than we thought, that is our problem, and you get to plan against a number that does not move. We measure ourselves by what changed for you, not by hours billed.
Your accounts on day one, and yours at the end
The build runs on your infrastructure and your keys from the first commit, so nothing that matters ever lives in an account we control. At the end you get the code, the data and the documentation needed to run it — keep us, replace us or take it in-house.
You have three kinds of quote in front of you
Nobody is named here, because these are patterns rather than companies — and you will recognise both of them. These are the five things worth resolving before you sign anything, and where we stand on each.
| What you are comparing | The AI shop selling a future Impressive demo, vague delivery | The cheapest bid you got Hours sold by the hour | Growth Nerve Built, shipped, handed over |
|---|---|---|---|
| What you get | The AI shop selling a future A pilot that impresses the room and never meets a customer. | The cheapest bid you got Tickets closed against a spec, and whatever the spec forgot. | Growth Nerve Software running on real work, with a runbook and a named owner. |
| How it is priced | The AI shop selling a future A discovery retainer, then a number that arrives after you are committed. | The cheapest bid you got A low hourly rate, and a total nobody can predict. | Growth Nerve Fixed price on a scope we agree first. No hourly billing, no surprise invoice. |
| After it launches | The AI shop selling a future It lives on their platform, and leaving means rebuilding it. | The cheapest bid you got The team rotates off and the code is nobody's to explain. | Growth Nerve Code, accounts, keys and docs handed to you. Optional monthly care, no lock-in. |
| What the AI actually is | The AI shop selling a future The headline. Everything is AI, including the parts that are a database query. | The cheapest bid you got A wrapper added late because the brief asked for one. | Growth Nerve Used where it earns its place, and left out where a rule is cheaper and more reliable. |
| Whether anyone says no | The AI shop selling a future Every idea is a good idea, because every idea is billable. | The cheapest bid you got Nobody pushes back — you wrote the spec, they build the spec. | Growth Nerve We name the cases it will not handle before you sign, and turn down work we cannot make great. |
The right-hand column is a list of commitments, not results — how we price, who does the work, and what you are handed at the end. Ask us to put any of it in the contract and we will.
Growth Nerve, by the numbers
Work we turn down
Not positioning. These are the four enquiries we actually say no to, and the reason we give when we do.
We are not a landing-page shop
If what you need is a marketing site, a good designer and a template will do it faster and for a fraction of what we would charge. We build the systems a business runs on, and we will point you elsewhere for the rest.
We will not sell you AI you do not need
Plenty of what gets described as an AI problem is a broken process, a missing integration, or a rule nobody ever wrote down. Those are cheaper to fix and we would rather fix them. If a model is not the answer, you will hear it on the call, before there is anything to invoice.
We will not start work we cannot make great
If the data is not there, the deadline is not real, or nobody inside the company owns the outcome, the build fails no matter who does it. We would rather lose the project than take one we cannot finish properly.
No lock-in, in any form
No runtime you can only rent from us, no accounts in our name, no retainer you have to keep paying to keep the lights on. Leaving is a decision you can make on a Monday, not one we get to price.
